The set for Oliver was basically fixed there was a walk way across the back at 7’ height. From this came two offstage sets of steps and one on stage set on stage left. On stage right the upper level extended downstage. Just off-stage of this extension and the on-stage steps was a full height set of flats. Downstage entrances were created using arches.

Hidden under the upper level were three trucks which turned to reveal the set pieces for Fagin’s Den, Sowerbury’s and the Three Cripples. The upstage two of these pushed back through the arches and off stage to reveal London Bridge.

A cloth was flown in to provide the backdrop for Fagin’s Den. The Prelude and was acted in front of a black gauze to give a bleed through into scene 1. A had scripted placard 12’ x 2’6” reading “God is Love” was flown in to depict the workhouse.

During the get-in the on stage stairs proved to be 3’ too long, so sections 6 & 8 were cut and section 7 was placed between 3 & 4, rotating the upstage entrance by 90 degrees.

During the London Bridge scene a street light was placed DSL to light the murder.

An Antari Ice was placed upstage of the upper deck between sections 2 & 3 to provide a river effect during the London Bridge scene.

The windows were covered with Lee 250 frosted gel. This was fine except that it came away from the flat a few times.
